After more than two years with the United Way of Rogers-Lowell, Holly Hill, 35, was recently promoted to vice president. A University of Arkansas graduate with a degree in social work, her promotion comes just before the United Way’s annual August-to-November fund-raising push.

But Hill says added duties won’t keep her from working closely with the 38 local organizations that are under the United Way umbrella. This year’s fund-raising goal is $925,000, and Hill intends to once again be a major contributor to the drive’s success.

“The money is raised and distributed between the member agencies,” Hill says. “The goal is based on the community’s needs, and a lot of other factors that go into it. But mostly it’s just a very fun and rewarding process.”

Hill helps design the United Way’s annual brochure and does a campaign video every year. From 1991-96, she managed the family owned Aunt Clyde’s Bakery at the corner of Second and Poplar streets in Rogers.

A member of the Central United Methodist Church in Rogers, Hill says her primary objective is to develop relationships with people in the communities of Rogers and Lowell.

“I want to educate them about what exactly United Way is, and how their contributions will work for people in our communities,” Hill says.
