Economics Arkansas appoints two
Economics Arkansas has announced the election of Daniel McAdoo and Dr. Megan Duncan to its board of directors. Both bring experience to help the nonprofit deepen its impact and bring real-world economic and financial literacy to PreK-12 classrooms across the state.
McAdoo is the chief financial officer at Hytrol Conveyor Company, where he has helped scale the manufacturer to $500 million in revenue. He brings nearly two decades of industrial and operational finance experience to the board. McAdoo holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Southeastern Oklahoma State University and an MBA from Arkansas State University.
Duncan is the executive director of the Arkansas Association of Educational Administrators (AAEA), where she supports school leaders and navigates the evolving landscape of curriculum and assessment across the state.
A veteran educator with more than 20 years of leadership experience, her past roles include serving as assistant superintendent for Conway Public Schools and assistant commissioner of learning services for the Arkansas Department of Education. She also holds a doctor of education from Harding University.
“Daniel and Megan bring a wonderful combination of professional insight and a deep commitment to Arkansas education,” said Kathleen Lawson, executive director of Economics Arkansas. “Daniel understands the operational and financial realities of a major statewide industry, while Megan is deeply connected to the needs of our school administrators and classrooms. Having both perspectives on our board will be incredibly valuable as we continue equipping teachers with the resources they need to make economic concepts meaningful for students.”
In their roles on the board, McAdoo and Dr. Duncan will collaborate with business, agricultural and educational leaders statewide to guide Economics Arkansas’ standards-based programming, teacher professional development and impactful student initiatives like the “Stock Market Game.”
