Batesville-chartered Citizens Bank has hired Zach McCoy as its new executive vice president and chief financial officer. He replaces Karen Shaw, who was promoted to chief risk officer to expand the bank’s enterprise risk management division.

McCoy was most recently senior vice president of corporate finance at Bank OZK of Little Rock.

“I am confident Zach McCoy will make an excellent addition to our executive team,” said Adam Mitchell, CEO and president of Citizens Bank. “His extensive experience in corporate finance and strategic mindset make him a strong fit for this role. We know his contributions will strengthen our financial operations and drive continued growth.”

McCoy holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Arkansas, with a major emphasis in accounting and finance and a minor emphasis in psychology. He is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive), a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Arkansas Society of Certified Public Accountants.

“This opportunity brings me back to Arkansas community banking and allows me to work with a team of skilled bankers who share a like-minded vision,” said McCoy. “I am excited to contribute to the growth of the organization as a whole while recognizing and promoting the efforts of our associates.”

Citizens Bank has 212 employees, according to the most recent data from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC).  As of March 31, the bank’s assets totaled $1.4 billion. That’s up from $1.23 billion compared with the same date in 2022.
