Achievements: Zylowski left a successful career in the vendor community, earned an MBA, and in 2010 co-founded Movista, whose cloud-based software allows companies to manage their distributed workforces via smart devices. The company closed a $12 million Series A funding round in September, and its recurring revenues are up more than 300% since 2015.
What’s your favorite quote? The way we do anything is the way we do everything.
What’s the biggest risk you’ve ever taken? Not leaving the comfort of the corporate cocoon earlier risked me never realizing my dreams. My stolen philosophy is “the less we bet the more we lose when we win.” My advice is always, “Go for it.”
What is the next big personal or career challenge you plan to take on? Being at a healthy weight is my life’s challenge. I own it. Since May, I am down 70 pounds and miles to go, literally. When we conquer our highest mountain, the rest seem so meager. Look for me on a trail near you.
When it comes to your company, what are you most proud of? How our customers and employees see us. In 2018 we were voted a Best Employer by our team, and 80% of our new business was referred by existing clients. That means we are doing things right with our most important constituents.
What characteristic should every leader possess? Humility, I guess, but who am I to say?
