J. Max Van Hoose’s title as director of construction and equipment at Harps Foods Stores Inc. hardly tells the story.
Van Hoose, 33, is a versatile player for the Springdale company. And that’s exactly what he enjoys about his position, calling it “very dynamic.”
He facilitates plan development for new stores and ones undergoing remodeling and/or additions.
Van Hoose is also responsible for equipment purchases and installation, facility and equipment maintenance, supply purchases, cardboard recycling, waste removal, laundry, floor care and energy management.
“I don’t know what to expect from day to day, and the tasks are extremely varied,” Van Hoose said.
“These projects allow me the opportunity to work with associates throughout the company.”
Van Hoose, a graduate of Springdale High School, received his bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Arkansas in 1991 and his master’s from the University of Kansas in 1996.
Married with two children, Van Hoose is a member of the board of directors for both the Springdale Chamber of Commerce and Springdale Rotary Club.
