Celebration in the Park
To promote National Recovery Month in September, The Guidance Center will host a Celebration in the Park, “Community Supports Recovery” event, to highlight the need for continued support for people in recovery and draw attention to critical prevention, treatment, and recovery support services.
“Celebration in the Park will emphasize the importance of seeking physical and mental wellness every day, through multiple pathways and throughout the recovery process, to achieve health and well-being,” stated Jim West, CEO.
The community event will feature live entertainment from Mr. Cabbagehead and the Screaming Radishes and other entertainers. Local community agencies and organizations that recognize the value of seeking treatment and overcoming psychological and/or substance use disorders will have information available. Area artists and authors will display their works and there will be many fun activities for children.
Celebration in the Park will be on Saturday, September 20 from 4pm-dark at the Center’s park area located at 3111 South 70th Street in Fort Smith.
Admission is free and concessions will be available. For more details about the event, please contact Rusti Hice at 479-452-6650.
