Wiggle and Giggle Fishing Derby

The Van Buren Rotary Club will host the "Wiggle & Giggle" Fishing Derby on Saturday, June 7. The derby will be held at Lake Cap Bedell, located within the Van Buren City Park. The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will stock the lake with more than 500 Whiskery Catfish, giving everyone a chance to reel in some big ones! Catch and release is encouraged, but participants may keep up to five fish by providing their own container. Participants should also bring their own fishing pole and bait, as quantities will be limited.
Registration will begin at 8 a.m., with the derby ending at 11 a.m. The event is free and open to kids ages 2-16. Prizes will be awarded for the "first fish," "most fish," and "biggest fish." Other activities will include face painting, bounce-arounds and more. All participants must be accompanied by an adult.
