Forty Under 40: Anthony Joseph Woodruff
Anthony Woodruff said he is motivated by a desire to provide world-class care to the people of Northwest Arkansas.
Woodruff graduated from Harding University in 1998 with a degree in biology.
He graduated from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2002, and completed his urology residency at Louisiana State Univer-sity and Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans in 2007.
Woodruff said his biggest achieve-ment has been completing a fellow-ship in urologic oncology in 2008 at the Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle.
“Urologic oncology is a field that is on the cutting edge in regards to employing and developing new technologies,” he said. “I have been blessed to become an expert in robotic surgery, and taking care of cancer patients while offering them the most advanced surgical and medical treatments available is very fulfilling.”
Woodruff is the director of robotic surgery at Northwest Robotic Surgery Institute, based at Northwest Medical Center — Springdale.
Woodruff said his three- to five-year goal is to continue to offer minimally invasive robotic urologic surgical care.
In 2011, Woodruff founded the Northwest Arkansas Prostate Cancer Foundation, a nonprofit aimed at expanding awareness, timely detection and improved treatment of prostate cancer.
