Kuar: State Budget Legislation Unveiled
Arkansas’ $4.6 billion balanced budget has been agreed upon by legislative leaders and the Governor after a weekend of negotiations.
In short, public education and prisons will receive more money than the last budget cycle, but most other state agency budgets will remain flat or decline.
There will be no cost-of-living raises given to state workers as a means of balancing the budget after a $35 million tax cut compromise was achieved.
