Clean & Green: Leed Certified

You’ve heard of a building being LEED certified before and you know it has to do with environmental sustainability. But what is LEED and how do you get it?

In this week’s Clean and Green segment, Talk Business visits with one of the original team members who helped make LEED certification a reality in Arkansas – architect David Perry of RPPY Architects.

Perry says that LEED projects once cost as much as 15-20% more in construction costs, but now it’s more like 3-5% because of changes in the marketplace.  He also adds that the difference is quickly recaptured in the long run through lower maintenance and energy costs.
