Brummett: The Reform-minded Young Golfers

These former state senators were a tight-knit group and they challenged the old guard once led by former State Sen. Nick Wilson.

Brummett recalls the fate of these politicians whom Wilson had given a nickname that stuck.

So now we are left to reconsider the reform-minded young golfers.

You have a popular governor who is maybe the South’s most successful contemporary Democratic politician. You have a wealthy car dealer dead from cold-blooded, point-blank lunacy.

You have Lu Hardin’s once-white hat, now all flattened and filthy.

Maybe it is the stuff of a novel. Or maybe it is just life.
