Staff changes made at Sparks Hospital
Sparks Health System has announced the following staff changes and additions.
Dr. Margaret Tremwel has stepped down from her duties as chief medical officer effective May 25. Her focus will continue to be in neurology, telemedicine and the hospital’s stroke program.
Dr. Katherine Irish-Clardy will be the new chief medical officer. Clardy is certified by the American Board of Family Practice, and has been with Sparks since 2001.
Sharon McMillan will be the hospital’s director of laboratory effective June 14. McMillan has 30 years experience as a lab director with a local hospital. She graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch with a bachelor’s degree in technology.
Patti Kirby has accepted the position of assistant director of laboratory effective June 14. Kirby has been with Sparks for 30 years.
Dr. Cygnet Schroeder is the new medical director of case/resource management. Schroeder’s duties will include rounding to identify utilization issues while interacting with medical staff, managed care providers, assisting risk management with observation issues, reviewing and evaluating various reports and costs.
