Van Buren company donates military-style rifles
Van Buren-based THOR Global Defense Group has donated 10 THOR TR-15 rifles to the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET) based in Ada, Okla.
CLEET’s armory has a limited variety of weapons, and CLEET hopes to offer an Advanced Rifle course to Oklahoma’s peace officers as a result of obtaining the donation, according to a THOR statement. The TR-15 rifle is designed primarily for law enforcement and military applications. The THOR TR-15 is a fully mil-spec AR-15 style rifle, used worldwide by military and law enforcement personnel.
“It is through THOR’s generosity that our organization will be able to continue to provide the best law enforcement training possible,” Dr. Larry Birney, CLEET’s executive director, said in the THOR statement.
Birney said CLEET will begin a new active shooter training program and THOR donation these will help provide that training.
THOR Global Defense Group was founded in 2003 by President & CEO Larry Knesek and provides a variety of security-related services, which includes a manufacturing division.
