Sparks Clinic, the physician and clinic component of Sparks Health System, has became the area’s only full-service clinic group to receive accreditation from the Joint Commission.

Twenty-three Sparks provider-based clinics along with The Women’s Center at Sparks recently underwent their first unannounced Joint Commission survey and were awarded full accreditation. Participation in this accreditation process is voluntary and is a sign of a health provider’s commitment to quality patient care and safety, according to the Sparks statement.

The Joint Commission is an organization known throughout the country for setting quality healthcare standards that address an organization’s level of performance in key functional areas, such as patient rights, patient care & treatment, and infection control. The standards focus not simply on an organization’s ability to provide safe, high quality care, but on its actual performance as well.
