KMOD Tops Tulsa Radio

Rock and roll, country and talk radio dominated the Tulsa radio market, according to the most recent Arbitron ratings.

Rock formatted KMOD-FM, 97.5 “Tulsa’s Rock Station” was at the top of the list. The station, owned by Clear Channel Communications, had an 8.7 percent share in the 12-year-old and higher demographic.

The runner up, the country formatted KWEN-FM, 95.5 “K95.5 FM” was down almost 17 percent from fall 2006, when it had a 9.5 percent share.

The station is owned by Cox Radio Inc. and came in with a 7.9 percent share.

Other stations with big Arbitron dips included adult-contemporary formatted KBEZ-FM, 92.9, which fell 14.5 percent over the period and KHTT-FM, 106.9 “KHits” which was down 13.3 percent. KHits tied KRAV-FM, 96.5 “Mix 96” for tenth place in the ratings, each station with shares of 3.9 percent.

KMYZ-FM, 104.5 “The Edge” saw a slight bump, with a 4.6 percent share, up 18.9 percent from fall 2006, when the alternative formatted station had a 3.7 percent share.
