Meteorite Magazine Lands in Fayetteville
A quarterly journal dedicated to meteorites will be published from the University of Arkansas’ Arkansas Center for Space and Planetary Sciences beginning in February.
Meteorite, with about 650 subscribers, was founded in 1995 by Joel Schiff and his colleagues in Auckland, New Zealand. It is a non-profit magazine.
The audience is “basically anyone who is interested in rocks from space,” said Hazel Sears, the managing editor.
The 44-page magazine contains general interest articles on meteorites, information on conferences and gem shows, expeditions to recover new meteorites, technical developments and research articles, a release said.
Larry and Nancy Lebofsky will be joint editors of the publication. Larry Lebofsky, a professor at the University of Arizona, will be a visiting professor at UA during the spring semester.
