United to Offer Flights Between Chicago, XNA
Beginning on Oct. 31, United Airlines’ United Express unit will begin three daily nonstop flights between Chicago and the Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport in Highfill. The airline also said it will add one new daily nonstop flight to Denver.
Service to and from XNA will be on 50-seat regional jets, provided by SkyWest Airlines, doing business as United Express.
Scott Van Laningham, executive director and CEO of XNA, said Denver has been one of the most frequently requested destinations from travelers.
In June, Northwest Airlines announced it will provide twice-daily nonstop jet service between Detroit and XNA beginning Sept. 13. Those new flights will be operated with Northwest Airlink partner Pinnacle Airlines Corp.’s 50-seat Canadair Regional Jets.
Van Laningham said the new flights and flights starting in September will put XNA’s roundtrip daily flights at about 55 and there will now be 15 different destinations.
