As president and partner in Williams Tractor, Doug Williams, 29, is proud of his family unit of employees and cites them as the cause for his companys success.

Newt Haley Equipment Sales started in 1946, and the name changed to Williams Tractor in 1973 when the Don Williams family bought the business. Doug Williams and his brother Dwight bought it from their father in 2000.

Williams oversees a staff of 60, 40 of whom have been with the company for more than 10 years. One of the employees has been with the company since day one in 1946.

Williams praises his staff for treating customers like theyd prefer to be treated.

From pricing to service issues, we try to be fair in everything we do by treating customers like we would like to be treated if we were the customer, Williams said.

Williams graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1986 with a degree in agriculture business. After college, Williams served as a loan officer for Farm Credit Services before deciding to join his father in the family business.

Williams is content with his current position and has no plans to change his career path. As for Williams Tractor, the brothers hope to continue growing within their market share and maintain the level of customer service that has kept them in the black.
