CommunityCare Foundation Gives $1.2 Million this Round

The CommunityCare Foundation has awarded its second round of grants for 2002, bringing its giving over the past three years to $13.2 million. Grants for the organization’s second round this year totaled $1.2 million and include commitments already made to the All Children Excel in School program and the Nonprofit Learning Series.

Other grants for the second round of 2002 were awarded as follows:

• $38,246 to the Bentonville School District for computers and other equipment needed to integrate technology at Spring Hill Middle School.

• $31,000 for equipment to upgrade medical services for Project KIDZ Health at the Bentonville School District.

• $125,000 for the Community Development Corporation of Bentonville/Bella Vista, to renovate the Senior Resource Center building.

• $40,000 for nursing scholarships through Northwest Arkansas for Nurses.

• $35,000 for scholarships and the counseling program of the Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Benton County.

• $35,000 for scholarships for the Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Washington County.

• $50,000 to the United Way of Washington County for a human services needs assessment in Benton and Washington counties.

• $50,352 to Washington County for the Hometown Health Improvement Project Four-County Community Needs Assessment.
