Nick Jeffries plans to open the Dickson Street Diner at 522 W. Dickson St. in Fayetteville in time for Springfest, which is set for April 21. Owners of the business are Jeffries; Deonna Darnell, his fiancé; and Mike Starkey of Fayetteville.

Jeffries was in the restaurant business for 15 years in the Washington, D.C., area, having served as manager of Planet Hollywood in Washington and Fleetwood’s, an Arlington, Va. restaurant owned by Mick Fleetwood of the pop group Fleetwood Mac.

Jeffries moved to Fayetteville five years ago. He also owns Advanced Towing Co. of Fayetteville.

Jeffries said the all-night diner will specialize in plate lunches, sandwiches and breakfast, but no alcoholic beverages. Menu items will range in price from the $2 hamburger to the 8-ounce steak at $8. He said the spot will give people a place to dine before driving home from the entertainment district.

“All of the major cities I’ve been in have had an all-night food place near the entertainment hub,” Jeffries said.

The restaurant will also have a jukebox and “classic” video games.
