Photo Security Cards Come to N.W. Arkansas
Bank of America’s new Photo Security Visa credit and check cards have arrived in Northwest Arkansas and are the first of their kind in the area. Don Gibson, president of Bank of America’s Northwest Arkansas institutions, said more than 5,000 customers have already requested and received the new cards.
Existing account holders can stop by any of Bank of America’s area locations to get their picture taken and complete the necessary forms.
“This addresses a real security issue, not only for the individual but for the bank,” Gibson said. “The main thing from the bank’s standpoint is this will really help minimize fraud. Not only is the customer’s picture on the front of the card, but their signature is there as well.”
Bank of America, based in Charlotte, N.C., is the largest check card issuer with more than 22 million cards issued nationwide. With $672 billion in assets, Bank of America has 13,000 ATMs nationwide.
