ABF Chief to Lead Trade Association
David E. Stubblefield, president and CEO of ABF Freight System Inc. in Fort Smith, was on Dec. 15 named the new chairman of the Motor Freight Carriers Association. The MFCA board of directors, whose organization is the national trade association representing unionized general freight carriers, announced its decision last week in Washington, D.C.
“I am delighted with the board’s election of David,” MFCA president and CEO Tim Lynch said in a prepared statement. “He brings over 40 years of trucking experience, including the last six as president and CEO of ABF. More importantly, he has been directly involved in the formation and growth of the Motor Freight Carriers Association since its start in 1997.”
Stubblefield said he was looking forward to working with the Teamsters union “to make highways safer.” He succeeds Michael W. Wickham, chairman and CEO of Roadway Express.
