Entrepreneur Mike Jeffcoat swamped himself with chores for the new year.

Word on the street is that he plans to acquire the Suzuki portion of the Best Buick Pontiac GMC Suzuki dealership in Rogers and that he intends to open the business under the name Razorback Suzuki by the end of January.

No contract has been signed, and managers at the Best dealership had no comment. But we hear that, if the deal is sealed, Jeffcoat and his partner, Lendel Snoderly, will want to move the new dealership to the property currently housing Jim Cox Motor Co. on Hudson Road. Jeffcoat expects to finance the $325,000, two-acre lot through the Bank of Rogers.

Jeffcoat projects that a staff of eight will sell about 55 new and used autos monthly.

If the sale becomes final, Jeffcoat will own five Northwest Arkansas car dealerships.
