New Hospital Has All But the Kitchen Sink
Johnson’s Willow Creek Women’s Hospital, set to open in late January, lacks one convenience of most hospitals. There is no kitchen in the 90,000-SF building. rInstead of preparing meals in-house, Willow Creek contracted The Market at Pinnacle Point to cater meals to the patients, doctors and staff of the hospital. Arranged through Service Professionals Inc. in Little Rock, The Market will prepare and transport a minimum of 60 fresh meals per day to the hospital. rCase Dighero, catering director at The Market, said the existing staff would handle the annual base of 21,900 meals, and he added that the Willow Creek account could potentially become 10-12 percent of The Market’s total catering business.rThe three-year contract between the hospital and Service Professionals places a ceiling of $21 for three patient meals each day, said Stan Turney, sales director for Service Professionals. rBetween the ceiling cost and the minimum delivery, at least $153,300 of Market meals will be delivered annually to the hospital.
