A few dollar stores have moved through Rogers over the years, but none has survived. Ramona Laramore manages the Dollar Blessing Store for her parents, and she believes this variety store will reach people.
None of the merchandise costs more than $1, and many products sell for less, Laramore says.
Newspaper and occasional radio advertising serve Laramore, but circulating store coupons is another tactic she uses to draw in customers.
“We are convenient and inexpensive,” Laramore says. “[We have] books, puzzles, cards, lots of kids’ toys, really something for everyone.”
Laramore’s previous business experience includes working for her mother’s day care center.
