Daisy Manufacturing Co. has hired former Kirkpatrick Williams vice-president Joe Murfin to be its new director of marketing. Murfin was at Kirkpatrick Williams for the last decade and has 16 years of advertising agency management experience.

Daisy President and CEO Adam Blalock says Murfin has already been instrumental in helping the company launch its first national advertising campaign in three years. The campaign will include both TV spots and ads in nationally-distributed publications like Boys Life, Field & Steam and Outdoor Life.

Murfin was at the World Congress Center in Atlanta, Ga., this week for the Shooting Hunting Outdoor Trade show international show. He says he was happy at Kirkpatrick Williams but couldn’t turn down the opportunity.

“The potential with Daisy intrigued me,” Murfin says. “It’s the Coca-Cola of its industry with great name recognition, but our name in the national media has been dormant for a few years. We’re looking forward to implementing our 1999 marketing plan and getting the Daisy name the media attention it deserves again.”
