D-G cuts rates in Fayetteville

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette is offering a special deal only for subscribers in Fayetteville.
The state newspaper is offering a year’s subscription for $54.50 for residents of Fayetteville. But residents of Springdale and Benton County must pay $89 for a one-year subscription.
D-G salespeople are beating the streets of Fayetteville to let residents know they’ve got a special opportunity — 15 cents an issue over the entire year (including Sunday papers). The move seems to support the theory that the D-G is currently targeting Fayetteville in its effort to cut a niche out of the Northwest Arkansas newspaper market.
