Carroll Marbury and his son, Patrick Marbury, have combined their sales talent and an established clientele to move Sir Speedy into high gear. After 29 years in the insurance business, Carroll Marbury says he knew money could be made in the printing business.

The Springdale Sir Speedy shop offers color printing, offset printing, binding, color copying and a range of other services. “We are one of only a couple printing services in Springdale offering wide-format color printing on photo quality paper,” Marbury says. The company can create, print and digitally transmit a document directly to other Sir Speedy stores, saving time and reducing shipping costs.

Sir Speedy has two stores in the state. The store in Springdale opened July 22, while the Little Rock store has been open about eight years. Sir Speedy has some 1,200 franchised stores in the United States and 24 other countries. “Sir Speedy was started in 1968 and is now the largest printing franchise in the world,” Marbury says.

Marbury wanted to be in an area with high visibility, and he has achieved that with the high traffic area next to the Wal-Mart Supercenter. He also owns some commercial property in the area, which helped him to decide where he would open the store.

Marbury says most of his clientele is business organizations, such as law firms, real estate agencies, medical corporations and a range of other companies. Training centers also take advantage of services, such as high-speed production and binding, to print manuals and other educational material.

Marbury has five employees and plans to hire more as the company grows. He guarantees fast service. “It’s on time, or it’s free,” he says.
