Under Contract But Not Closed

Community Bank, which plans to expand to Springdale soon, has a contract to buy property east of the Arts Center of the Ozarks. The seller? Bernice Jones, best known for her philanthropy.

Doug Kittrell, who will be president of the Springdale bank, says the sale will close once the institution receives regulatory approval and construction should begin soon after. Officials hope to be open by fall but they may opt for temporary quarters until construction on a new building is completed.
