Patrick Carr, 34, grew up in Richmond, Va., and began his professional career with Day’s Inn, first as a front desk supervisor and later as hotel manager.

In 1988, he went to work for Auto Sound of Virginia, a company that installed car stereo systems. Six months later, he was assistant manager over three stores.

In 1990, Carr moved to Atlanta, got married and started his own business – Presentation Solutions. He soon changed the company, which specialized in slide presentations, to more of a public relations and graphics firm. The name was changed to Integrated Solutions, and Carr picked up some heavyweight clients such as Coca-Cola, American Megatrends Inc. and IBM.

In 1998, Carr saw the position of director of graphic arts services advertised on John Brown University’s Web page. He applied and landed the job. A month later, his wife Adriane, a JBU graduate, was offered the position of director of marketing and public relations for the school.

In his current position, Carr manages press operations for JBU and does all the graphic design work marketing and public relations there.

Carr is on the Siloam Springs Planning and Zoning Commission and is a candidate for city council.
