Butterfield Trail Village to Add 72 New Cottages
Butterfield Trail Village, a life-care retirement facility in Fayetteville, has begun construction on 72 new three-bedroom cottages. The total cost of the project will be about $18 million.
The additional cottages will be on the south end of the property, which is at 1923 Joyce Boulevard. The first phase of construction will include 16 units. Those should be ready for occupancy by May.
The homes will range from 1,600 to 2,000 SF with four different floor plans. They will be rustic stone with wood trim matching the original design in the village.
Butterfield has 233 existing cottages and apartments with 340 residents.
The architect for the project is RDG Schutte Wilscam Birge of Omaha, Neb. McClelland Consulting Engineers of Fayetteville is the engineering firm.
Seven new city streets have been named in the village, including Overland Drive, Elk Horn Circle, Mud Creek Terrace, Stage Road, Cumberland Way, Cross Hollow Cutoff and Signal Hill Depot.
Butterfield was founded in 1986 by five local churches and is privately operated, controlled and administered by a community board comprised of Northwest Arkansas residents. The facility includes a general store, beauty shop, computer room, library, heated indoor pool and spa, hydrotherapy pool, exercise and fitness room, putting and pitching green, woodworking shop and a rose garden.
Congressman Asa Hutchinson was the guest speaker at the ground breaking ceremonies Aug. 30.
