Tom Cotton Says $500,000 Mark Reached, Clark Hall Clears $131,000
Fourth District Republican Congressional challenger Tom Cotton said his campaign has raised more than $540,000 in five months, including close to $200,000 in the fourth quarter.
The Cotton for Congress campaign said it has roughly $479,000 cash on hand and no debt.
“Our many donors, volunteers, and friends are powering a grassroots campaign across the Fourth District. Working together, we will send a strong, conservative leader to Congress who will stand up to Barack Obama and fight for jobs and economic freedom, Arkansas values, and American leadership,” said Tom Cotton about the campaign’s fourth-quarter performance.
Cotton is seeking the Fourth District seat being vacated by retiring Rep. Mike Ross (D). Other Republicans seeking the office include Beth Anne Rankin, John Cowart, and Marcus Richmond. Democratic candidates include State Sen. Gene Jeffress (D-Louann) and D.C. Morrison.
UPDATE: Rep. Clark Hall (D-Marvell), a Democratic candidate for the First Congressional District, said he raised $131,714 during the fourth quarter. Hall will report $107,045 cash on hand as of Dec. 31, 2011.
“I’m honored to have the support of so many Arkansans in the First District, personally, politically and financially. The momentum behind our campaign is people, people who expect better from our representative in Washington than what we’re getting,” Hall said.
Hall faces Gary Latanich in the Democratic primary. Incumbent Rep. Rick Crawford (R) has no announced primary opposition.
