ASBTDC To Offer Small Business Health Insurance Options Workshop

The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock will host a training session on Oct. 15 for small business owners and employees interested in new health insurance options.
The workshop, “Informed Businesses: Navigating the Affordable Care Act,” will be held in conjunction with the Arkansas Insurance Department. There is no charge to attend.
The session, set for 1-3 p.m. at the Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce will discuss provisions of the federal health care law and the new Health Insurance Marketplace.
The training will highlight:
- The Arkansas Health Connector website
- SHOP, the Small Business Health Options Program
- Compliance and notification requirements that began Oct. 1 for employers
- New tax reporting requirements for employers
- Potential financial penalties for non-compliance
- Available tax credits, potential rebates and premium reduction programs
