Faye Lavell Smith Scantling

Faye Lavell Smith Scantling, 91, of Arkoma passed away on Thursday November 27, 2025 in Arkoma. She was born June 16, 1934 in Panama, OK to William and Iva Pearl (Hood) Smith.

Faye was retired after 35 years from Trane and an avid Sooner fan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Scantling, one grandchild, Eric Scantling and one great-grandchild, Dalton Poindexter.

She is survived by one daughter, Iva Jean Bailey and her husband Larry of Pocola, OK; one son, Dwain Scantling of Fort Smith; two grandchildren, Nic Bailey and his wife Shelly of Yukon, OK and Lana Fisher of Fort Smith; two great-grandchildren, Mary Scantling and Cameron Bailey; one great-great-grandchild, Dutton Scantling and special daughter and son, David and Melissa Jones of Muldrow; three sister in laws, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Wednesday December 3, 2025 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith with burial in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Larry, Nic and Cameron Bailey, David Jones, Shorty Benefield and Dan Lokey.

The Family will visit with friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Tuesday at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home 4500 Jenny Lind Road Fort Smith, AR 72901.
