Danville-chartered Chambers Bank announced Wednesday (June 8) the promotion of Ashley Wiser to chief operating officer. She will oversee retail, deposit, and branch operations, and quality assurance, business development, treasury management, and support services departments.

Wiser has worked for Chambers Bank for more than 14 years, most recently as senior vice president and director of deposit operations and quality assurance. She is currently enrolled in the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado, a leadership development program for senior executives of community banks throughout the country.

“We are thrilled to add Ashley to our Chambers Bank executive team,” president Mike Donnell said in a statement. “Her breadth of experience in retail operations makes her uniquely qualified to serve in this role. Her significant understanding of community banking will help us continue to grow and reach new customers.”

Wiser is a Danville Chamber of Commerce board of directors member. In 2019, she was named Danville’s Volunteer of the Year.

“I am excited to take on the role of chief operating officer,” Wiser said. “We have an extraordinary team here at Chambers Bank, and we will continue to build the strong relationships with our customers that set us apart and ensure a bright future for our bank.”

Wiser is filling the job previously held by Erica Preston of Bentonville. Preston resigned to accept a position in Northwest Arkansas with Pine Bluff-chartered Simmons Bank.

Chambers Bank operates 24 branches in Arkansas and had assets of $1.23 billion as of March 31, according to the FDIC.
