Baptist Health names Reanetta Hunt as new chief development officer and CEO of the Baptist Health Foundation
Baptist Health system announced Reanetta Hunt as its new chief development officer and CEO of the Baptist Health Foundation on Thursday (March 28).
“Reanetta brings an incredible depth of experience with more than 25 years working in nonprofit leadership capacities addressing some of the more challenging aspects of development and fundraising,” said Troy Wells, president and CEO of Baptist Health. “I am convinced that with her proven leadership and vision, Reanetta will bring about innovative, inspiring solutions to some of the specific challenges that are unique to the Baptist Health Foundation.”
Prior to her appointment to lead the foundation, Hunt served as CEO of the Chicago State Foundation and as interim vice president of advancement at Chicago State University, a public, comprehensive university that provides higher education for students of diverse backgrounds and educational needs.
As CEO of the Baptist Health Foundation, Hunt will oversee the charitable organization’s efforts through programs and projects within the Baptist Health system including scholarship awards, the BHealthy initiative and the Baby Project, which funds life-saving equipment for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Baptist Health-Little Rock.
“It is a tremendous opportunity and honor to be selected to head the development operations at Baptist Health and to work with its board and talented staff to further the critical mission of leading and inspiring philanthropic efforts and civic involvement aimed at improving the health care and quality of life for the people of Arkansas,” Hunt said. “I am thrilled to return to my home state, and I look forward to reaching out through innovative ways as well as through existing portals to not only enhance our current network but also to cultivate dynamic new relationships.”
Hunt is a native Arkansan and a veteran journalist who once worked as a reporter and anchor at ABC affiliate KATV-TV in Little Rock. Hunt’s background includes work as a principal of a public relations, marketing and management consulting business that included several Fortune 500 companies among its diverse client base.
She has held positions as news reporter and anchor in Chicago, television general manager, corporate communications vice president and nonprofit executive director, and has received national recognition for her charitable work with at-risk youth and families.
Hunt holds a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts/Journalism and a master’s degree in Education from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
