Class of 2018 C Suite Debbie Griffin COO & Executive Vice Producer Greater Bentonville Area Chamber of Commerce

Achievements: Griffin managed the first television station in Northwest Arkansas, served on the first “College Without Walls” board for NorthWest Arkansas Community College, was one of the first women to be inducted into Rotary in Northwest Arkansas, was responsible for the first televised broadcast of the Walmart Shareholders meeting to stores nationwide, and has directed the Northwest Arkansas Technology Summit and Women in Technology Conference.

What is your biggest passion, and why? Providing opportunities for students to learn, because we are impacting the future generation and those who will work and shape Northwest Arkansas.

How old were you when you had your first paying job, and what was it? My first job was at KURM radio at age 14. I was a disc jockey, read the news and even hosted the Dial-A-Trade show.

What is your favorite thing to do when you are not working? Spending time with my husband Mark, and I am a Hallmark movie junkie.

What’s your favorite quote? Excellence is a not gift given, but a skill perfected.

What’s something interesting about you that people would be surprised to learn? I have earned several blue ribbons at the Benton County Fair for canning homegrown green beans and tomatoes
