Betty Louise (Womack) Pickens Obojkovits, age 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, in London, Arkansas. Born on June 1, 1939, in Heavener, Oklahoma, to the late Ernest and Johnnie Womack, Betty lived a full and colorful life, spending most of her years creating a warm and welcoming home in Fort Smith and Northwest Arkansas. Betty was a woman of fierce love, sharp wit, and undeniable style. She had an absolute passion for shopping and interior design. Her eye for decorating was legendary among those who knew her; she loved transforming spaces so much that she would happily decorate your entire house if you only asked. Alongside her love for beautiful spaces was her legendary passion for cleanliness. Visitors to her home rarely saw her without a bottle of Windex in hand, always keeping her surroundings as pristine as they were beautiful. Above all, Betty loved her family and treasured holiday get-togethers, where her vibrant personality truly shone. Known for speaking her mind, Betty never left anything unsaid. You always knew exactly where you stood with her, a trait that came from a place of ultimate honesty and authenticity. She possessed a massive heart of gold and a deep, compassionate desire to help those in need. Anyone who required a safe place to land knew that Betty’s door was always open, whether for a short stay or the long term. She built a lasting legacy of taking people in and making them feel loved and at home. Betty was reunited in heaven with her parents, Ernest and Johnnie Womack; her husbands, Bobby Pickens and Erich Obojkovits; her sister, Ramona Garrett; and her ten brothers, Bill, John, Roy, Connie, Ronnie, James “Jock”, Jerry, Larry, Doyle, and Mike Womack. Her love and memory live on through her surviving family, including her daughters, Ivy Graciano (Felipe) and Cindy Pickens; her brothers, Gene and Paul Womack; her cherished grandchildren, Robert and Andrew Black, Cherith Jordan, Keithlee Smith, and Gracelyn Graciano; alongside numerous other great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Betty’s life at Edwards Funeral Home, located at 201 N 12th St, Fort Smith, AR 72901. A viewing will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 10:00 AM, with the funeral service immediately following at 11:00 AM.
