Irene Ida Schluterman was born on February 10, 1934 in Paris, Arkansas to her parents, John and Louise (Sprick) Schluterman. She was married to Raymond Seiter on June 23, 1953.

She was a member of St. Boniface and then Immaculate Conception Catholic Churches in Fort Smith, the Catholic Daughters, and Ladies Auxiliary of the local Knights of Columbus. As a breast cancer survivor, she was a member of the Red Hat Society. Irene was a homemaker, a small business owner and worked in the floral department at Michaels Art and Crafts Store. Supportive of her children’s activities, she was a seamstress for daughter Karla’s dance class costumes for many years and was also involved with the Girl Scouts.

Irene loved her family, her Catholic faith, being involved in church and school activities and enjoyed helping people. She loved to entertain friends and children’s friends at her home. In her elder years she loved to watch Mass on television and help people through prayer. She would often say, “I have plenty of time to pray.”
