The Winthrop Rockefeller Institute announced that William Rockefeller, managing director of private banking at Bank OZK, has accepted a three-year appointment to its board of directors.

“I’m excited about joining the board of the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute,” Rockefeller said. “The institute is committed to promoting diversity of opinion, collaborative problem-solving, and encouraging respectful dialogue — values that my grandfather believed were critical to properly address the issues impacting society. I’m honored to be involved with continuing that mission with the institute.”

In his bank role, Rockefeller is responsible for strengthening and expanding banking relationships between Bank OZK and high-net-worth clients.

Before joining Bank OZK, Rockefeller worked with the Winrock Group Inc., a diversified company with investments in automotive dealerships, farming and ranching operations, and real estate holdings. He began his career serving constituents for U.S. Sen. John Boozman, R-Ark., in both Arkansas and Washington, D.C.

“Will Rockefeller’s appointment to the board of directors reflects a meaningful continuation of the Rockefeller family’s legacy in Arkansas,” said Janet Harris, executive director and CEO of the institute. “As a third-generation Arkansas Rockefeller and a fifth-generation family member, Will brings a valuable, informed perspective, grounded in a deep understanding of the family’s history, Winrock Farms, and the facilities and grounds entrusted to the institute’s care today.

“Will has already been a strong supporter of our work and a contributor to our 2025 strategic plan, and we are excited to welcome this new generation of leadership as we embark on our 2030 strategic plan and chart the institute’s growth for the future.”

Rockefeller also serves on the boards of Winrock International and the Arkansas Policy Foundation and is president of the Museum of Automobiles on Petit Jean Mountain.
