Richard Lee Poston, Jr.

Richard Lee Poston, Jr., 50, of Alma, AR went to be with his heavenly father on June 26, 2025. He was born August 15, 1974 in Iowa City, Iowa to Rick and Kathy “Rose” Poston. Richard was a graduate of Rogers High School and Northwest Arkansas Community College. He was a member of Alma First Free Will Baptist Church. Richard was preceded in death by his mother Kathy Rose Poston Corizine.

Richard is survived by his father and stepmother Rick and Denise Poston of Des Moines, Iowa; grandmother, Gail Poston of Newton, Iowa; sisters, Jennifer Adams and husband Marty of Monroe, Louisiana, Summer Sage and husband Steve of Colfax, Iowa; aunt, Patsy King of Springdale, AR, Aunt Kathy Robuck of Knoxville, Iowa and Aunt Christina Binkowski of Boulder, Montana; nieces, Alex and Sam Adams, Katie Adams and Jeremy Wyatt, Morgan Adams and Kalub Sampson; nephew, Hayden Sage; great nephew Sam Wyatt; his “special mom” Joanne Staggs Petray or Momma Joe; his longtime friend who was like a brother to him, Maurice Bonar of Kansas City, Missouri; and lastly, Barry Staggs, his best friend, his companion, his caretaker, who shared a bond that was forged that is not broken by death.

A funeral service will be held in Richard’s honor 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at Ocker funeral home of Alma with interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Alma. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service, 9:00 AM till 10 AM at Ocker Funeral Home of Alma. Pallbearers will be Benny Cox, Brad Ball, Carlton Brammar, Johnny Henson, Aldo Rodrigues, and Vance King. The service will be officiated by Reverends Herb Pulse and Don Parr.
