Johnny E. Garrett, 84, of Cedarville, passed away Monday, June 2, 2025 in Fort Smith. He was born June 20, 1940 in Van Buren to the late Elmer and Vernie (Dodson) Garrett. He was retired from Allen Canning Co.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Denny Garrett.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Garrett of the home; seven daughters, Doris Jones and husband Bill of Cedarville, Susan Kay Garrett and husband Rodney of Olivehurst, CA, Melissa L. Cummins and husband Lester of Van Buren, Inez Boyd of Van Buren, Jewell Mattingly and husband Darrell of Van Buren, Lenell Dye of Van Buren, and Clifta Sutton of Fairmont, MN; a son, Donny Garrett and wife Becky of Van Buren; a sister, Joyce Upton of Alabama; twenty-four grandchildren, and forty-three great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 5, 2025 at Gill Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
