LaVerta Zee Daily, age 82, passed away peacefully on the evening of April 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on April 26, 1942, in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. LaVerta was the eldest daughter of Joe and Freda Morrow. She graduated from Siloam Springs High School in 1959 and went on to earn a degree from Fayetteville Business College in 1961. She was employed as an insurance clerk at Fayetteville City Hospital, where she met her husband, Lawrence (Larry) Daily, who was working as an orderly. They married on January 5, 1963, at Norwood Community Church in Arkansas.
LaVerta devoted her life to raising her family, finding great joy in supporting her children through every stage of their lives. She was a proud and enthusiastic presence at their sporting events, always cheering for them.
LaVerta was an avid reader with a special fondness for mystery novels. She had a natural talent for english, spelling, and typing – skills she mastered with ease and often shared with others. Her quiet intelligence, unwavering support, and dedication to her family left a lasting impact that will be remembered with deep affection.
LaVerta was an active member of her church community, teaching children’s church and cooking dinners every Wednesday, as well as for church functions. She always had a smile when she was with others.
She found great joy in feeding and watching wildlife – especially hummingbirds, which she adored. On occasion, she even encountered more unexpected visitors, including a stray black bear. LaVerta loved raising and naming her cattle, and she had a special way of talking to every creature she came across. She took great pleasure in her garden, where she nurtured flowers year-round and tended to her vegetable garden with care each spring.
LaVerta is survived by her loving husband, Lawrence (Larry) Daily; her two children, Jeffry Daily (Jeff) and Gina Daily; her granddaughter, Jaela Daily; and her younger sister, Pamela and husband Rick Lenard. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Freda Morrow, and her brothers, Bobby (Bob), Marvin, Thomas (Tom), and Lawrence (Larry) Morrow.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Friday, April 18 at Midland First Baptist Church with burial at Norwood Cemetery in Siloam Springs under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing and visitation with the family will be Thursday from 5 – 7 p.m.
