Billy Aaron Dean Woods, age 54, passed peacefully into his heavenly home on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Born on August 1, 1970, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Billy was the cherished son of Aaron Dean Woods and Mary Lou Cindy Isham. A self-employed entrepreneur at heart, Billy had a passion for buying, selling, and trading vehicles and various goods. His quick wit and love for laughter earned him a reputation as a jokester and self-proclaimed comedian—bringing smiles to the faces of all who knew him.
Billy had a deep love for music and often found joy in playing the guitar and singing country songs. A natural conversationalist, he never met a stranger and enjoyed striking up a friendly chat wherever he went. Though he enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino, Billy was a homebody at heart. He was also a devoted Christian, his faith carried him through life, giving him strength. Above all, his greatest love was for his children, and his heart was as big as his personality.
He will be remembered for his kind spirit, his sense of humor, and his down-to-earth nature. To his family many friends, Billy was truly one of a kind—what he called a “local legend”—and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
Billy was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Mary Lou Cindy Isham; his child, Ashlynn Woods; his grandchild, Kinsley Alexander; and his brother, Gabriel Woods.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter in the lives of those who survive him: his devoted wife of 29 years, Stephanie Ann Woods; his children, Summer Woods of Fort Smith, Arkansas; Mariah Alexander and her husband Jeffery Fox of Lavaca, Arkansas; and Keegan Smith of Clarksville, Arkansas; his grandson, Forrest Fox; his brother, Brian Woods of Little Rock, Arkansas; his sister, Kimberly Keith and her husband Jimmy Harden of Truman, Arkansas; his grandfather, William “Bill” Woods; as well as a host of extended family and dear friends.
Billy will be deeply missed and fondly remembered always. Cremation under the care of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
