Little Rock-based Encore Bank announced Friday (Sept. 24) it has expanded into the Dallas-Fort Worth market and hired two experienced veteran bankers as executive vice presidents to oversee operations.

Marc Massad has been hired as executive vice president and regional president of Dallas, and Scott Jones has been hired as executive vice president and regional president of Tarrant County.

“Early on in the Encore Bank story, we made our intent to operate in the Dallas and Fort Worth markets a top priority. Our philosophy of being a private, boutique bank that promotes a culture of empowerment and innovation, we believe, is a great fit in these markets. Our passion for delivering products and services with a unique client experience will go well with the traditions and expectations of the individuals and businesses in the North Central Texas market,” said Phillip Jett, Encore Bank Vice Chairman & President.

Massad is a 16-year banking veteran in the state of Texas. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a BBA in in Entrepreneurship and Venture Management and double minors in Finance and Economics. He served as the Senior Vice President & Commercial Group Manager for Iberiabank from 2014 to 2020, Commercial Banker with Mutual of Omaha Bank, and held various positions with Bank of Texas including Credit Analyst and Assistant Vice President.

Jones, a 7th generation Texan, began his 35-year banking career with Interfirst Bank, N.A. He continued his career with retail and commercial banking positions at Bank One and served as the Middle Market Commercial Banking Manager at SouthTrust. Prior to joining Encore Bank, Jones served as the Tarrant County Market President and previously the Dallas Fort Worth Market President for Regions Bank. Before Regions, he served as Tarrant County Area Executive of First Horizon Bank, the national banking brand of First Horizon National Corporation, where he was responsible for building the company’s commercial, retail, and wealth management presence in the Tarrant County market.

“We will only enter a market when we find the perfect leader. As we studied the Dallas and Fort Worth markets, two names kept being brought up again and again, those were Marc and Scott,” Jett said.

“Marc’s knowledge of commercial banking, treasury management solutions coupled with his leadership experience makes him the ideal choice to build and lead our team in Dallas. We are thrilled with the addition of Scott Jones to our growing Encore team. Scott’s 35-year banking and business development career in the Tarrant County (Fort Worth) market has given him a wide range of experience and expertise to help spearhead our expansion in the Lone Star State,” Jett added.

In early 2019, Capital Bank changed its name to Encore Bank after new ownership and new capitalization. The bank completed a $50 million capital raise and has been adding employees, investors, and opening in new markets, including Northwest and Northeast Arkansas. Encore Bank has also seen tremendous loan growth, added a mortgage division, and announced it is moving to a new headquarters and opening a branch at 1801 Rahling Road in west Little Rock.
