Arkansas Tourism’s official travel website, Arkansas.com, received a bronze award in the visitor’s guide category at the 2018 North American Travel Journalists Association (NATJA) Awards Competition.

The NATJA competition, now in its 27th year, recognizes the leaders in travel journalism, photography and destination marketing that cover all aspects of the travel industry chosen from international submissions of major publications, journalists and bloggers.

“The winners are a microcosm of the talent, creativity and journalistic excellence that encapsulates our industry-leading members,” said Helen Hernandez, NATJA chief executive officer. “As our membership continues to grow so do the submissions of the accomplished pool of those who work in the travel industry—raising the competitiveness and prestige of the annual NATJA Awards.”

Arkansas Tourism is a division of the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism. It manages 14 Arkansas Welcome Centers and employs more than 60 staff members across the state. Over 1 million people visited the welcome centers in 2018.
