Mathias Zeroes in on Highway 102 Property

Developer Sam Mathias of Springdale has apparently zeroed in on the highly traveled highway between Centerton and Bentonville for a new commercial development.
Mathias Shopping Centers Inc., according to property records, recently paid Betty Sass $1.02 million for 2.08 acres at the southeast corner of Arkansas Highway 102 and Greenhouse Road.
The site is directly across from a new Walmart Neighborhood Market, has 608 feet of highway frontage and has recently been rezoned to C-2 (highway business).
Arthur Thurman, a Mathias spokesman, didn’t offer any comment on the land deal to Whispers, but said development details would be forthcoming.
