David Short to retire as president, CEO of Arvest Bank in Benton County

David Short will retire as president and CEO of Arvest Bank in Benton County, Arvest Bank Group officials said in a news release Monday.

Dennis Smiley, president of Arvest Bank in Springdale, will replace Short when he steps down April 1.

Until then, Smiley will work with both organizations to help ease the transition, the release stated.

Short has been with Arvest for 31 years, said Scott Grigsby, the Rogers-based bank group’s executive vice president and regional manager. Short joined the Arvest family of banks in 1980 as a vice president and loan officer with the Bank of Bentonville, and has held his present post since 2009.

Smiley joined Arvest in 1989 as a commercial loan officer with McIlroy Bank in Fayetteville.
