EPA Funds Designed to Improve Health of Water
The State of Arkansas was awarded more than $300,000 by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to participate in a program that will aid in the assessment of pollutants and other stressors on the state’s freshwater resources.
The $343,200 will allow Arkansas to take part in a National Ecoregion Monitoring Program, a Wetlands Survey Project, and to develop a software program to interface the collected data. The surveys and data are used to better understand aquatic life structure and provide more accurate information about the health of the state’s water.
