Tyson Makes Appearance on Fox News
Some readers no doubt caught Tyson Foods Inc. chairman John Tyson’s March 10 appearance on Fox News. In case you missed it, here’s a brief summary.
Tyson appeared during a segment asking if the nation’s economic recovery is on hold. He also touted the company’s Know Hunger study and its efforts to fight the problem.
Perhaps his most interesting comment came, however, when Tyson was asked why some large firms are not hiring new employees at a faster pace. Tyson said his opinion is there’s too much uncertainty in Washington, D.C.
The result, Tyson added, is many companies have decided the “safe decision is to sit on the sidelines until we get good clarity — clarity on regulation, clarity on policy and clarity on economic guidelines out of Washington, D.C., from both sides of the fence.”
It’s hard to argue with that.
